Use these tips from the pros
to sharpen your game.
General tips
- Play Classic Pongling
first! It'll teach you the basics for the other game modes.
- Which is your bowling
ball? It's at the screen's bottom and follows your mouse left and
right. Use it as a "paddle" to hit the small object ball.
- Beware of the gutter!
Gutter a ball and you'll get a zero-score shot assigned to the first
incomplete frame. (It's just like you bowled a gutter ball in regular
bowling.)
- Want the perfect strike?
Make the object ball enter a frame from the side and at a low angle
-- NOT straight in.
- Straight-in shots are
good for spares, but almost NEVER get you a strike!
- To get the first bonus
frame to open, you must get a spare or strike in the 10th frame.
- To get the second bonus
frame to open, you MUST get strikes in the 10th and 1st bonus frame.
On the 2nd bonus frame, you'll only get ONE shot at it -- no spares
allowed!
- Game score is always being
updated. But since a bowling score depends on the sequence of all
frames (# of strikes in a row, etc.), a final score can't be figured
until all frames are bowled!
- The MIN score begins
at zero and counts UP. It's the score you'd get if EVERY shot through
the end of the game were a gutter ball.
- The MAX score begins at
300 and counts DOWN. It's the score you'd get if EVERY shot were perfect!
Atomic Pongling
Tips
- Get a strike in Atomic
Pongling and a bonus will drop from the strike frame. Catch it with
your bowling ball, but beware of "bad" bonuses.
- In Atomic Pongling, always
try to get the Homing Missile bonus. It's a free strike!

- In Atomic Pongling, everyone
loves the Big Ball bonus. A Bigger Ball means more pins knocked down!
- In Atomic Pongling, skilled
bowlers can take their time setting up shots with the Slow Down bonus
ball.

- In Atomic Pongling, the
Shrinker bonus ball can make it tough to get strikes. Best avoided
unless you're ultra-skilled!

- In Atomic Pongling, grab
the Speed-Up ball if you think you can handle it! Otherwise, avoid!
- In Atomic Pongling, grab
the Multi-Ball bonus if you're the one-in-one-thousand-players who
can juggle two at once!

- In Atomic Pongling, you
can replay a level as many times as necessary to advance. Your level's
score will not be added to your total score unless you advance!
Reactor
Pongling Tips
- In Reactor Pongling, whoever
complete his game first ENDS the other's game and puts gutter balls
in the other player's score. Use this strategic tip to win!
- In Reactor Pongling, it's
very important to predict where your opponent is going to hit the
ball. Try to position yourself where the ball will be, not where the
ball is.
Shootout Pongling
Tips

- In Shootout Pongling,
first player to complete his game ENDS the other's game AND scores
gutter balls for the other player's incomplete frames. This can be
used strategically.
- The wormhole, in Shootout
Pongling, can be used offensively. Aim into the wormhole so that the
ball will teleport to your opponent's side and enter into one of her
frames at a bad angle.
Tips from the
Pro Shop Lounge
- The most important frame
to get a strike in is frame 10. Without a strike in frame 10 the highest
bowling score possible is 270.
- Got up to Level 22 in
Atomic and blew it? Save, save, save between levels!
- Best shot? Bounce the
object ball from the lowest point possible on your bowling ball.
- When the object ball goes
at an almost horizontal angle, take the time to relax and really plan
your next shot.
- Always, always pick up
bonus points by clearing level obstacles in Atomic Pongling.
- Bowl right to win! Keep
your wrist straight and your arms close to your body. A steady hand
is the key to good form. Stay away from the snack and drink stand.
- For an extra challenge,
play blindfolded. If you're playing Reactor or Shootout, this will
freak out your opponent and cause him to lose his nerve. Jordan shot
with his eyes closed at the foul line with similar, devastating effect..
- When playing Reactor or
Shootout, your wins will increase significantly if you aggressively
nudge your opponent off from their chair during play.
